Physical health /Skill Level /Gear & Equipment/safety/ACCOMMODATION/ weather

Physically if you're an active person who exercises often, then you should be in fine shape for this four day workshop. The longest hike will be about roughly 10 miles round trip, but we will take breaks in between. The rest of the hikes planned are easy for any level of skill at around 0.5 to 3 miles round trip. We don't expect the terrain to be rough or difficult to navigate. Please be prepared to hike in rainy conditions and have the appropriate gear to do so. While October is one of the driest months in the Smokey Mountains, you never know. If any location or hike is out of your comfort zone. You’re more than welcome to shoot another location, stay at your hotel and rest, or wait until we get to another more comfortable location for you. We will do our best to accommodate your physical needs.

*More detailed information will be provided two weeks from start date forecasting weather and terrain conditions. CustardAPL staff will be on location one week before to begin preparations.

From a photography skill level, everyone is welcome.  There is no need to be an advanced photographer by any means.  We typically see a range of intermediate photographers, a few advanced, and a few beginners. Private instruction will be catered to each individual's level of skill.

You definitely don’t need expensive gear to shoot in the Great Smokey Mountains. If you have any camera capable of shooting in manual mode, a tripod, and a wide angle or telephoto lens you’re good. We also recommend exploring the option of simply renting out a DSLR or Lens for the trip.

By attending this workshop, you agree to hold Diego McCartney and CustardAPL and its employees and owners harmless for all personal injury or loss that may occur during or in connection with this trip. You are responsible for your safety during the entire duration of this workshop. Do not push your physical abilities past what you are healthy enough to do. You are in charge of deciding if a location is safe for you to travel to.

Travel insurance as well as insurance for your photo gear are both recommended.

Accommodation is not provided on this workshop. We recommend the River Terrace Resort Hotel located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This is where we'll be staying and meeting on some occasions. Check out their website, Here

In the event of extraordinary events, governmental instability, extreme weather, or other unforseen conditions, Diego McCartney and CustardAPL reserve the right to cancel this trip and return all workshop fees to participants.
